You want to know what they’re saying.

Especially if you are a freelancer, photographer, artist, showgirl or entrepreneur.

Sign up for a Google Alert, so that you get an e-mail every time someone or a website writes about you or your business.  It’s a great tool, it’s easy and it’s cheap.

Signing up for an Alert is simple – just go to http://www.google.com/alerts and enter your name or your business name into the “search terms” box, follow the rest of the instructions, and hit “Create Alert.”

Now you’ll be sent an e-mail every time your name is mentioned in someone’s blog post, on their website or anywhere else on the web.  A link to the post or site will be provided as well.

With these alerts, you’ll know immediately when someone’s written about you.

And then you have the opportunity to thank them for writing something nice about you.  Or calling them on it if they don’t!
