Years ago, when I worked 9-5 in the insurance industry, I felt like a fish out of water. I didn’t belong.  I dreamed of leaving, working for myself.  I always had the entrepreneurial spirit.

But the fear of what would happen if I left that secure job kept me STUCK there.  For many, many years.

Finally, one day I got so tired of being in the WRONG PLACE with the wrong people doing the wrong things…that I busted through that block and started a new life.

WE ALL HAVE BLOCKS THAT KEEP US FROM WHAT WE WOULD LOVE to create….

  • A new business
  • A better relationship
  • More money.

Some of us allow the block to hold us back for decades and we don’t even realize it.

A “block” can lead to procrastination which prevents us from getting what we dream of.

And when we procrastinate, it’s usually because there’s a hidden FEAR holding us back from taking the next step required to lead us to our dream.

And usually, we don’t even know what that fear is or where it came from.

Covid was the catalyst for many people to break through their blocks.

Sometimes, a divorce, a death or a serious accident helps us break through our blocks.  But why wait for something tragic to happen?  Maybe we can start looking at what holds us back and breaking through it in an easier way.

This is something to think about.

How about what holds you back from your dreams?

SHARE IN THE COMMENTS: Have you broken through block recently? Or is there one you are working on?

I’d love to hear from you!

    1. Parker, thanks for sharing! I can literally relate to every-single-thing you wrote! 🙂 Except: #10, I am less and less repeating steps 1-9. Every day in every way I am getting better and better at not beating myself up, and then allowing creativity to flow. I’ll bet you are, also, as recognition of a pattern helps to dissolve it.

      1. Hi Maria,

I’m literally being blocked of my full potential by a failing marriage that’s been going on for years. I’m only saying this here because very few eyes will see what I have written. I’m not looking for sympathy…just support. I know there is so much more for me on the other side of this but it’s not easy. I want you to know that since the first time I met you and Drew at the very first Sacred Craft you have been a guiding light for me and my creative path. I feel like a rocket sitting on a launch pad that has not fuel to burn. I’m not so much looking for advise as much as I just needed to release these words to someone who I respect. I fear what I have to do and the people that will be affected by my actions. But I know that once my fear is released I will start a new process that will be controlled by my own two hands. Your post has inspired me greatly and had me thinking all weekend long about what I want. Much love, Bryan.

  2. Bryan, thanks for trusting and sharing here. Keep moving in the direction of what you want and you’ll get there. You have my support and caring!

  3. I had a lot of success last year and I quit my job to do art full time and I still can live from it but it’s not been easy and have been doubting myself and what I am doing a lot. So there is definitely a block. Can’t wait to talk to you on Saturday!

  4. Hi Maria.
I have reconnected with my art. I’m at an age..52..where I think if not now when?
I will need to work full time for awhile but changed jobs from being a therapist to a trainer. Now I have space for me. Now having worked through the pandemic this is my escape,my freedom, finding ME at last. Not sure how it translates but bought your book. Signed up to develop my skills. I’m so glad I found you🌺
